Toronto (April 3, 2013) —
After an absence of 28 years, giant pandas are returning to the Toronto Zoo. Da Mao and Er Shun, a pair of breeding pandas on five-year loan from China, are the zoo’s newest residents. Part of the zoo’s conservation and breeding program, the two pandas join the zoo’s other endangered and threatened species and will go on public display beginning May 18. With a little luck, bouncing baby pandas may be a future attraction at the zoo, which also features three rare white lions and about 5,000 other animals.
With Toronto CityPASS® ticket booklets, travelers to Canada’s largest and most cosmopolitan city can take in pandas, panoramas, museums, and more — all while enjoying big savings and line-skipping privileges. Each CityPASS ticket booklet packs discounted admission to the city’s essential attractions — CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, Toronto Zoo and the Ontario Science Centre — into one easy-to-use pass. CityPASS travelers save 43 percent off the cost of purchasing the included tickets separately. Adult Toronto CityPASS booklets cost $61.50 CAD (a value of $107.70 CAD); child passes (ages 4-12) retail for $36.50 CAD.*
Even more impressive than your CityPASS savings is the view from the top of CN Tower, Toronto’s most celebrated architectural marvel. Visit the LookOut level, located 1,136 feet (346m) above the ground, and soak up the sky-high ambience. Or test your nerve by stepping onto the tower’s Glass Floor and staring straight down 1,122 feet (342m). Your CityPASS admission ticket to CN Tower also includes a 3-D film and a motion-theater ride.
And spring is the perfect time to visit the gardens of Casa Loma, the castle-inspired mansion built in 1911-1914 by financier Sir Henry Pellatt. If your visit inspires a sense of déjà vu, it’s most likely because the mansion has hosted so many movie shoots, including serving as a location for such blockbusters as X-Men and Chicago.
For more than 15 years, CityPASS ticket booklets and admission cards have been premier products for travelers who want to visit a destination’s top attractions while enjoying significant savings. CityPASS booklets/cards are available for New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Hollywood, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Southern California and Toronto.
